Charity Works
They say "charity begins at home". In our "home", we
try to find different ways to help our neighbors.
The Cleveland Area Soap Box Derby has a new permanent track, located on the
West Shoreway at West 49th Street, adjacent to the Cleveland Water Plant.
Chariot racing will be run in conjunction with Cleveland Area Rallies.
If you know of any special needs children that would be interested in
participating, and become the NORPCA official chariot driver, please let us
know.
For more info and the Special Needs schedule (subject to change), check out the
Cleveland Area Soap Box Derby
website.
NORPCA is proud to be a three year sponsor of a Soap Box Derby “Chariot”
racecar, supporting the Cleveland Area Soap Box Derby. A “Chariot” is actually
a two-person soap box derby car, designed to allow special needs children the
opportunity to experience the thrill of the hill, seated next to an experienced
driver. The children range in age from 9 – 16 years old, with special physical
or emotional needs. The Chariots are specially designed with controls for both
drivers, so both children can experience the sensations of steering and
braking.
